U.S. Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) will address the 20th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference this coming Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Los Angeles LAX Marriott hotel.
The Sept. 23-25 conference will also feature appearances by nationally-syndicated talk host Larry Elder, National Rifle Association President Sandra Froman, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne La Pierre, Second Amendment Foundation President (SAF) Joe Tartaro and Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA). The event is co-sponsored by SAF and CCRKBA, with support from other organizations.
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Eugene Volokh, one of the nation’s leading experts on firearms regulations. A former clerk for retiring Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Judge Alex Kozinski on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco, he teaches copyright and free speech law, the law of government and religion, and a seminar on firearms regulation policy at UCLA Law School.
Senator Craig led the fight to pass federal legislation aimed at protecting the firearms industry from junk lawsuits designed to harass and bankrupt gun makers and retailers. He is a strong proponent of keeping federal land open to hunting and recreational shooting. He also serves on the NRA Board of Directors.
“Sen. Craig is one of the best friends gun owners have on Capitol Hill,” Gottlieb stated. “For years, he has taken a leadership position in Congress, in the battle to defend the firearm civil rights of America’s gun owners. He grew up in Idaho, and he carries that unique Western perspective about gun rights, outdoors values and common sense.”
