BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) today announced that industry veteran Rick Patterson has joined the organization as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
His job will be to build partnerships between SAF and industry to help each achieve their goals.
Patterson, formerly Executive Director of the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI), brings two and a half decades of strategic leadership and tactical success to firearms freedom and the industry that makes those products. He is a past recipient of SAF’s “Defender of Liberty” and “Global Leadership” awards, and a past recipient of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s “Environmental Excellence” award.
SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb said Patterson’s skills and experience make him a welcome addition at a critical time for gun owners and the Second Amendment. The Biden-Harris administration’s hostility toward the right to keep and bear arms is well known.
“SAF is on the forefront of Second Amendment litigation and education,” Gottlieb noted, “and our legal actions have protected and expanded gun rights in an environment where the focus has been on eroding, rather than defending, the right to keep and bear arms.
“SAF helps to stabilize the marketplace through well-researched lawsuits that shut down gun-grabbing politicians,” Gottlieb said. “Rick’s proven track record in this arena makes him the perfect person to generate successful partnerships between industry and SAF when gun rights are under attack by the Biden-Harris administration and Congressional anti-gunners.”
“It’s an honor to join the SAF team which has done so much to secure long-term protections for the second amendment and individual liberty,” Patterson stated. I’m looking forward to working with SAF and the businesses that are critical to firearms freedom to help build a better future.”
