BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation is about to launch a provocative new national television advertisement which puts the lie to claims by prominent Democrat politicians that “no one is coming after your guns,” when it is clear they have every intention of doing just that.
“Our new spot takes on former President Barack Obama, former presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton and California Gov. Gavin Newsom—all of whom have insisted nobody wants to take your firearms—and contrasts those claims against the admission by Joe Biden that he does want to ban the sale of semiautomatic rifles and 9mm pistols,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. “While they tell you one thing, it is clear from Biden’s candid remarks their intentions are far, far different.”
The 60-second advertisement, which will air 80 times on 19 cable networks starting next week, offers even more evidence of top Democrats’ intentions by focusing on Newsom’s astonishing proposal to add a gun control amendment to the U.S. Constitution, negating the Second Amendment and turning the right to keep and bear arms into a government-regulated privilege. He would ban semiautomatic rifles, deny Second Amendment rights to young adults and mandate an undefined “reasonable waiting period” on the purchase of new firearms.
The new advertisement will air on the following networks: Fox News, Fox Business, CNN, MSNBC, HLN, the Weather Channel, CNBC, Bloomberg, BBC America, One America News, the History Channel, TBN, American Heroes Channel, the Outdoor Channel, World Fishing, Game Show, RFD, Direct TV and DISH TV.
“While Newsom tells American gun owners he has no intention of repealing the Second Amendment,” Gottlieb observed, “his proposed constitutional amendment is deplorably designed to essentially gut the right to keep and bear arms, and he knows it. The only conclusion one can reach after studying his scheme is that Newsom must think the American public will allow him to void the Bill of Rights.”
The advertisement asks viewers to call 800-241-4882 and Press #1 to help stop Biden’s gun prohibition agenda.
“It is imperative that America’s gun owners unite and take legal action to rebuff these deceitful Democrats from fulfilling their objective of public disarmament,” Gottlieb said.
